The Literacy Volunteer Program (Program Relawan Literasi, or RELASI) is a collaborative program between the Association of Lecturers of Educational Personnel Institutions (Asosiasi Dosen Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan, or LPTK) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and the NTB Reading Consortium (Konsorsium NTB Membaca, or KNTBM) facilitated by INOVASI. The program is aimed at strengthening the competence of volunteers in maintaining and improving the literacy skills of elementary school students in an inclusive manner, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when Distance Learning (Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh, or PJJ) is implemented. Mentoring is conducted by referring to the TaRL method (Teaching at the Right Level/Teaching at the Right Level). The program is conducted entirely in the province of NTB. The RELASI program phase 1 was carried out in August-November 2020 with 5 LPTKs and 5 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) with a total of 128 volunteers and approximately 121 assisted students, and showed a positive response from stakeholders. The RELASI program will continue to phase 2 in March-June 2021 involving 13 LPTKs and 11 NGOs with a total of 654 volunteers and an estimated minimum of 572 assisted students. Further monitoring is carried out using quantitative and qualitative approaches to understand the various changes that have occurred as a result of program implementation, as well as documenting and taking lessons learned.
