INOVASI is a partnership between the Governments of Australia (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade/DFAT) and Indonesia (Ministry of Education and Culture). INOVASI also works with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and a range of non-governmental organisations, including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Ma’arif and Muhammadiyah. The goal of the program is to accelerate progress towards improved learning outcomes for Indonesian students. It focuses on three sub-topics of investigation: quality of teaching in the classroom; quality of support for teachers; and learning for all. The first phase of the program commenced on 18 January 2016 and concludes on 30 June 2020.
