The Australia-Indonesia Partnership program, Innovation for Indonesian School Children (INOVASI), has received the Appreciation of Real Actions for Learning Recovery by Strengthening Literacy and Numeracy award from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology at the Gelar Aksi Nyata Pemulihan Pembelajaran (Gerak Mulia) event in Jakarta, 12 October 2024.
” In 2024 we celebrate 75 years of official diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia. Education is a key part of our partnership. Australia and Indonesia work together throughout different levels of education – from universities, research and scholarships, to working together on literacy and numeracy. said Madeleine Moss, Minister Counsellor for Governance and Human Development at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta.
This recognition underscores INOVASI’s significant and continuous contributions to improving literacy and numeracy in Indonesia. The third phase of the INOVASI program, worth AUD 55 million over four years (2024-2027), was launched earlier this year. It focuses on strengthening the education at the local level to strengthen learning and achievement of foundational skills for Indonesian primary students, including children with disabilities.
INOVASI works in six provinces in Indonesia: North Kalimantan, West Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku. The aim is to strengthen the government’s transformation of the entire education system and ecosystem.
