West Java

Starting in July 2024, INOVASI Phase 3 is present as an Australia-Indonesia partnership to help the West Java government ensure that all children – without exception – master basic literacy and numeracy skills and develop good character.

Starting in July 2024, INOVASI Phase 3 is an Australia-Indonesia partnership to help the West Java government ensure that all children, without exception, master basic literacy and numeracy skills and develop positive character. We are partnering to:

  • Helping stakeholders find “local solutions to local problems” using the Problem-Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) approach and building teacher learning communities. Prospective teachers are also encouraged to participate in a pre-service curriculum based on local needs to make teaching methods more relevant and effective.
  • Equipping school principals in Cirebon and Sumedang with skills in academic supervision, inclusive management, and utilizing data for informed decision-making.
  • Conducting gender gap research and supporting the establishment of a Disability Services Unit so that every student—including those with disabilities—can learn in a welcoming, safe, and equitable environment.

With this integrated approach, INOVASI helps Cirebon and Sumedang Regencies maximize the potential of West Java’s young generation.
