In mathematics, numbers are considered the most difficult lessons for some children, especially when it comes to sorting. Of the various subjects taught at the elementary school level, mathematics is one of the most difficult subjects for students to master. Nonetheless, the students need to master this subject, as it is essential for solving problems in their everyday lives. There are many factors that cause students to avoid mathematics lessons. One is that it requires concentration and higher order thinking skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to learn mathematics, it is the teacher\u2019s duty to deliver the subject in a fun and engaging way while making it easy for students to understand. To present a concrete experience, especially in mathematics, Siti Aisyah, a teacher of SDN Labuhan Jambu state elementary school in Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), started looking for media or a teaching aid so that the students\u2019 learning experiences were tangible and easy to understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siti Aisyah had the idea to create what she calls a \u201cNumbers Boutique\u201d\u2014a visual aid made from materials in the surrounding environment. The tools and materials needed to create this medium are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sufficient amount of used cardboard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colorful metallic paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pencil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tape\/glue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colorful buffalo paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marker<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ice cream sticks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A pair of scissors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Numbers Boutique is a visual aid of various pictures of clothing\u2014shirts and pants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The children are asked to arrange or sort the pictures of clothing in an orderly manner, starting from the smallest number first.nata baju tersebut dengan rapi, dan memulai dengan angka yang paling terkecil dahulu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20width%3D%22768%22%20height%3D%22432%22%20xmlns%3D%22http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg%22%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20768%20432%22%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" alt class=\"wp-image-19556 fy-content__image fy-lazy js-lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image.png\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image.png 768w, https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-480x270.png 480w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" fetchpriority=\"low\"><div class=\"fy-image-loading fy-image-loading--skeleton\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After sorting, the Numbers Boutique displays a perfect sequence of numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20width%3D%22768%22%20height%3D%22432%22%20xmlns%3D%22http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg%22%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20768%20432%22%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" alt class=\"wp-image-19557 fy-content__image fy-lazy js-lazy\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-1.png\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-1-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.inovasi.or.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-1-480x270.png 480w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" fetchpriority=\"low\"><div class=\"fy-image-loading fy-image-loading--skeleton\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The learning activities that use the Numbers Boutique medium consists of three 35-minute sessions of class time. According to Aisyah, her students were more interested in participating in the learning session after implementing the Numbers Boutique. In addition to this, there were not enough pictures of clothing with numbers on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, these obstacles did not dampen Aisyah\u2019s efforts.
