Innovation for Indonesian School Children (INOVASI) is a partnership program between the Australian and Indonesian government to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Work directly with the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), this partnership program seeks to find and understand ways to improve learning outcomes in various districts in Indonesia, especially in terms of literacy and numeracy. Program implementation is carried out in four partner provinces, namely the province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), North Kalimantan (Kaltara), and East Java.
Through partnerships with these four provinces, INOVASI and local government assist teachers, principals, and supervisors at the cluster level through strengthening Teacher Working Groups (KKG). Each district / city carry out the pilot that focuses on strengthening education quality in accordance with the problems faced in each district / city – looking for local solutions, for local problems. Since July 2018, INOVASI started new partnership program with 17 NGOs and educational organizations in Indonesia to support the program’s achievements.
