This pilot aims to improve early grade student learning outcomes in literacy by enhancing teacher understanding of curriculum content, particularly the early stages of literacy development. It also seeks to improve teachers’ ability to use key processes for literacy development, such as formative assessment, and apply the most effective set of teaching activities and resources to their classroom context. In West Sumbawa, the pilot works with 17 schools. This pilot finished in July 2019.
