Bulungan district in Kalimantan Utara (Kaltara) became the first region in Indonesia to include children’s reading books into the BOSDA (Operational Cost of School) component. This is as a response to promote the School Literacy Movement (GLS). In addition, the Education Office of Bulungan also formed a team of “literacy guards”. This team is responsible for monitoring the implementation of GLS in all schools. INOVASI program with GLS Task Force from Ministry of Education and Culture will train this team so that they can implement the literacy program well.
